Epidemics & Traveling : Coronavirus
There are a lot of questions and thoughts that come up when epidemics present themselves. It's natural to want more information about something like this, but it can be difficult to find a starting point. It can also be confusing to know what information is the correct information that you should listen to because there's so much of it floating around. The good news is that we are going to make this topic a little easier to put together so you can eliminate some of the uncertainty you may have in your mind.
Where Do I Start?
Coronavirus is the most recent epidemic. The Coronavirus is said to have started in China and it has made notable noise in the United States, recently with its first death in Washington State.
Although the cause of the Coronavirus hasn't been fully determined, there are usually simple things you can do to protect yourself.
Keep these things in mind :
Wash your hands
Avoid being around those that are sick (if you can)
Clean and disinfect your home
What About Traveling?
There are risks all around us. Some of those risks are things we encounter every day, but we live with them and keep it moving. With that being said, here are some things you can do to protect yourself while traveling:
Wash your hands
Avoid touching your face
Keep hand sanitizer with you
Disinfect your hotel room if that's where you're staying or bring something of your own to sleep on/in
Stay updated on the outbreaks worldwide (especially for where you're headed).
What Else Can I Do?
One of the best things you can do is stay updated. As long as you stay up to date and do the basic things to protect yourself, you have pretty much done what you could do.
Be safe out there, iTravelers!
