There are few events that capture the energy, excellence, and culture of the Black community quite like the ESSENCE Festival of Culture. Every year, New Orleans transforms into a city buzzing with music, entrepreneurship, empowerment, and unforgettable experiences—and 2026 was no exception.
This year marked another incredible chapter for our iTravel2Getaway family as we welcomed travelers from across the country to experience one of the biggest cultural celebrations in the world. From the moment our guests arrived, the excitement was undeniable.
The Magic of New Orleans
Whether it was strolling through the French Quarter, enjoying authentic Creole cuisine, dancing down Bourbon Street, or simply soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, New Orleans always finds a way to leave a lasting impression.
Of course, the heart of the weekend was the ESSENCE Festival itself.
Attendees explored the Convention Center filled with hundreds of Black-owned businesses, inspiring keynote speakers, beauty brands, wellness experiences, financial education sessions, celebrity interviews, and countless opportunities to network and be inspired. Every corner offered something new to discover.
Then came the evening concerts...
Night after night, some of the biggest names in music took the stage, creating unforgettable moments that reminded us why ESSENCE is one of the most anticipated weekends of the year. It's an experience that's difficult to describe—you truly have to be there.

Looking Ahead
As much as we love ESSENCE Festival, we also believe in making space for new adventures.
After careful consideration, we've decided to take a one-year hiatus from hosting an official iTravel2Getaway group trip to ESSENCE Festival in 2027. This pause will allow us to focus on expanding our international experiences, introducing exciting new destinations, and continuing to elevate the level of service and experiences we provide across all of our group trips.
The good news?
We'll be back in New Orleans for ESSENCE Festival 2028—and we can't wait to celebrate with you all over again.
